Health/Safety

HATS

  • In line with school policy children are expected to wear hats in the playground during the summer months – October to March inclusive.

HEALTH

  • The Public Health Nurse calls at the School regularly. If a parent or teacher requests it, the nurse will examine any child and follow up any matter needing attention.
  • Please do not send your child to school when they are ill.

HEARING AND VISION SCREENING

  • All five year olds and new pupils are screened for hearing and vision. If a problem is identified, parents are notified and advised to follow up with an appropriate specialist.

ILLNESS AND ACCIDENTS

  • Accidents and illness at school are attended to immediately and are recorded in the Incident Register.
  • Parents are contacted if a child needs further attention.

MEDICATION

  • If a child is required to take medicine at school, a form must be obtained from the office, completed and returned to school before medicine is administered.

SAFETY

  • We aim to have a safe environment for our students.
  • Safety drills are conducted regularly at school. Exit signs are displayed at all times. Children know where the Assembly Area is located.

ROAD SAFETY

  • We ask parents to take care when dropping off or picking up students.
  • Please encourage children to wear seatbelts.
