When sending money to School, please place in an envelope with your child’s name, the amount, and what it is for.

Children are not encouraged to have money or valuables at school (including jewellery) as we cannot guarantee security.

VISITORS TO SCHOOL

All visitors to the School must report to the Office, or the Main Block. This is for the security of the children.

NEWSLETTERS

Our newsletters celebrate successes. We keep families informed about what the children are doing at school, upcoming events, community news and sporting, academic and cultural achievements. We try to include photos at least once a month.

PET AND CRAFT DAY

Pet and Craft Day is a highlight of our school year, and a celebration of our rural values. Children show calves, lambs, goats, and pets, which are judged on the day.

Children also work hard to showcase art work, craft, and story writing. We also include a traditional component of vegetable creations, sand saucers and cooking, which are also displayed and judged by community members.

LIBRARY

Our library is our pride and joy. We have a large, up to date and diverse selection of books available to the children. Our library is automated, and senior students look forward to the role they take as librarians.

TECHNOLOGY

We have up to date technology resources available to our school. The senior room has four computers with internet access. All children are encouraged to use the internet for research, supervised by an adult.

We have a digital camera, a data projector and a video cam which children use where appropriate, to present information, provide background displays, or improve their skills.

We also have Technic Lego which the senior children use to complete specific tasks.

ENVIRONMENT

Our children work to recycle paper, nurture seeds and plants, and combine with DOC in sand dune preservation. They have their own vegetable garden and worm farm. They produce and sell ‘worm juice’ for use as fertilizer.

CLUSTER

Linton Country School is part of the Fitzherbert Cluster. Together with the six other schools in our Cluster, we cooperate for sports events, general knowledge quizzes, cultural events and extension activities.
